Does insurance pay for acupuncture? Several insurance companies have recently added acupuncture to their list of reimbursable services. This increased coverage followed the Federal Drug Administration’s recognition of acupuncture needles as a medical device and the National Institute of Health’s endorsement of acupuncture’s benefits. Check with your insurance company to find out whether your plan covers acupuncture.
